Coach Lammers teaches government and political science at MHS and has been involved in coaching as long as he has taught in the district. Mr Lammers has spent 25 of these years as either a High School or Middle School cross country coach and is returning for his third stint as a high school assistant coach. In this time, Coach Lammers has had the pleasure of coaching many fine athletes and was an assistant on the 1994 State Championship XC team. Of course, Coach Lammers has also had to put up with a number of sub-par athletes and students—most notably the three Scherbarth brothers :)
In addition to his experience in cross country, Coach Lammers was the head of the Girls Track program in the 1990’s and is currently an assistant coach to the track programs assisting in hurdles. Coach Lammers was also an Assistant Track Coach at UW Whitewater and is himself a two time NCAA D3 All American in the High Hurdles.
Professionally, Coach Lammers is a member of the MHS athletic hall of fame and the UW Stevens Point athletic hall of fame. Mr Lammers is also certified as a Level 1 practitioner by the USATF and is a frequent clinic speaker and hurdle camp instructor (most notably at the Championship Track and Field Camps-a clinic he helped to found).
Mr Lammers is married to Michelle Lammers, who is a librarian in the district, and the proud father of Alyssa and Andy. In addition to all of the activity he gets from coaching, Mr Lammers enjoys traveling, biking, and running in his free time (Mr Lammers is himself a two-time Boston Marathon finisher).
Coach Lammers obviously brings a tremendous wealth of knowledge and experience to MHS cross country and is most excited by the prospect of building young men into experienced athletes in their own rights.
